Hi everyone. I’m Emma, a mum of two, the founder of Story Rangers and the class leader for Staffordshire (South Staffs included). Prior to becoming a full-time Story Ranger, I worked as an English Teacher for over 10 years. I’ve always been passionate about the importance of inspiring a love of stories in children and have been lucky enough, time and time again, to witness how stories have the power to transport children to other worlds, to develop their language and communication skills, to grow their imaginations and to help them explore their own feelings, relationships and the world around them. I love my job and can’t wait to take you and your children on an exciting story adventure!
Hi, I’m Lorna. I am a Mum and former attendee of the fantastic Story Rangers parent and child classes! So fantastic in fact, I am now part owner and run the Wolverhampton and Telford branch! Educating young children has always been at the forefront of what I do. In a career that has spanned over 20 years I have worked as a Nursery Nurse, a Teacher in both the Primary and Secondary sectors, a SENCO and I have also been involved in international training schemes, travelling around the world delivering training to teachers. I initially qualified as an Early Years specialist and this is where my passion still lies.
What to expect at Story Rangers:
Each week at Story Rangers, we will work together to embark upon an exciting story adventure. Our interactive sessions are designed to fully immerse children in the world of the story. Using drama, props, music, games, sensory play and (most importantly) our imaginations, we will meet dinosaurs, dive under the sea, hunt for bears and blast off to space among many other exciting quests. The great thing about Story Rangers is that each week a new story means a new adventure entirely! Children will also be given the chance to improve their confidence to begin to tell and act out their own stories. Any stories shared by the children will be scribed (written down for them) and given to you to take away as a precious keepsake of their first tales.
We offer weekly parent and child sessions across South Staffordshire and Wolverhampton, as well as sessions for educational settings. All information can be found on our website and social media pages but please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions you may have.
